After months of debate and talking with 1/2 dozen of the premier Mopar tuners over the summer I’m finally in the process of doing a Flex Fuel Tune on my 16 M6 GoManGo Hellcat Challenger.
For the last year + I’ve been running the same tune on a 2.85 Hellraiser and ID1050X injectors that started out at 775 wheel spring of 2019 and with small component additions here and there has been putting down 855 hp/ 710 Tq on the same tune since early spring this year but I’ve always envy’d the torque corn produces, the risks of pump 93, and hearing many say once you go corn you’ll never want to go back and reading of @Speedy! success with a OST Dyno flex tune using his old ID1000 injectors and loving it here I am to see.
So far I’ve gone through some revisions to “clean up” my present 93 tune and last week filled up with E84 on my Start Up Flex portion of the tune now. Needless to say I’ve been on pins and needles because life has been good for the last year and risking messing that up has had me swinging back and forth about doing it many times.

Being new to corn I’m Looking for tips, pointers, the do’s and don’t’s, and put some new information all together in a more current post for others who may be contemplating the same leap.

So here we go, all you guys that have taken these steps before us please share your wisdom with us, the good, the bad, and hopefully no ugly lol.

🍿🍺🍹

Here’s where I’m coming from

Hoping to get to 900/900 🤞

E85 is the future for pump gas. You are going to LOVE it.

Make sure to test fuel at the stations before filling up. If you have a tune for E85 and fill up with E50 asking for trouble. One of these $14 test bottles could save your motor.
If you're buying ignite E85/E90 won't have to worry but that stuff is pricey.

I have an electronic tester but need to get me one of these and test it both ways for a while and get to trust a less bulky simple test method like this 👍

Ok, the long awaited day has arrived, the first dyno figures. It’s been a looonnnggg haul, literally, I bet I put 1000 miles on my car since starting this endeavor 6 weeks or so ago. Most of the delay was in getting the Alcohol content to read correctly, seems it takes spot on fuel trims for such and had to go back to 93 and forth between 93 and E and I learned that running to empty and filling to the brim is not the way to do it as if you have to switch back there’s allot of driving involved to burn it off especially 93. BUT it’s payoff has finally come full circle!! Conservative tune so far netted 934 HP and 787 ft lbs tq on a E 77.5 reading. Local track closed already for track data but Street 1/4’s show a marked improvement, I’m ever so close to my goal of a 10 second street pass with a M6. I Went from consistent 11.4-11.6 133-134 1/4’s to Sunday doing 4 1/4 passes within 5 minutes of each other that ranged from 11.2-11.3 at 137-138 mph with crappy 2.0 60 fts and 3.5 0-60’s. My goal has been consistent 10.9x at 140, I’m close and I think I’ll get there with tune tweaking as long as the road doesn’t get too cold to quick MUCH THANKS to close buddies for their help and support in getting to this point, THANK YOU!!

Look at that Torque hump!! Amazing what $2.21 a gallon fuel can net!!

Yes it has been!! But..
The best part is.....we’re just getting started!!! This is conservative until it’s dialed in :)

2400 DA time of pulls, 17.1 psi peak boost around 6400. Good air the 2.85 with billet inlet plate, port matched snout and 95mm FM TB has made 18. I have a BBK 100mm unit that I’d like to try out as well before winter, hoping my friend has some tricks up his sleeve for maximizing it as well, he’s pretty damn good!!

I thought the whole point of a flex tune was that no matter what the E85 content the computer would compensate and adjust timing and injector pulse width for power, so no need to test fuel. Of course knowing the % content and how the motor is reacting is important to your personal knowledge for fuel suppliers and who or what brand has the best content, but blowing the motor on a flex tune shouldn't be a problem for a flex tune. Or am I wrong?

True . But it's good to know when you are first getting the tuning done . Once the flex fuel tune is dialed in then there is no need to test any more other then for curiosity.

How's the injector DC? Who's tuning?

Yes the injectors have to be scaled spot on for trims in order for flex to work properly.

Plenty of injector left yet

You should be ok as long as you don't get greedy and up the boost .

Sent from my BBF100-2 using Tapatalk
No plans on pulley changes, this combo already is making a hair to much boost for 93 at times and I want the ability to go back to 93 at a moments notice with a decent amount of confidence it’s safe to do. I think the tuner has this same mentality and concern as well, I listen to him with both ears and trust his judgement and recommendations!

Is that 77.5% tested with a tube or do you have a gauge?
