Couple of thoughts...

The "exhaust" noise isn't horrible and might become something to appreciate if it is tweaked and reflects "throttle" and shifting of gears. It may be improved in the production cars.

I've long thought EV cars need some kind of noise which pedestrians, and people in cars listening to approaching cars (like before slowly pulling out onto a road you can't fully see), can hear. I'd rather it be an exhaust note paired with approaching speed/power than, say, a merry go round's calliope endlessly repeating. Whatever sound it is should be distinctive and car related. Silent EV's will run over people so it has to be something.

In the CNBC video I posted about Dodge's transition to EV's it looks like the manual transmission actually works. I'm open-minded about that option. I have a manual transmission 2002 Subaru WRX Sport Wagon with easy clutch force and if the clutch pedal (will the EV Charger HAVE a clutch pedal?) force isn't too bad for my 66 year old knees I might enjoy that. It will be interesting to see if multiple gears in an EV yield an economic or performance benefit as opposed to a single gear.

I think the overall lines of the prototype EV Charger are pretty sharp - only the rear window line flowing into the trunk doesn't appeal because it looks like so many other sedans. I too like the two door look, but that reduces the practicality of the car.

I take it you also got them to redo that pealing tint on one or all of the windows?

The manual trans will be connected to the exhaust speaker sound system, no clutch needed as the shifter is not connected to the drive train. Kinda like the sounds I added to my slot cars when I was 10.
