Glad to see I'm not the only one that zip tied the insulation on the hoses. That was the worst part of the job.

Hose came in. Decided heat exchanger is getting plugged off completely. If I change my mind, I’ll have plenty of hose left lol. Keeping the bugs on the condenser, adds character

Is it even a race car is it doesn’t have zip ties on it? 😅

Are you guys wrapping (insulating) all of your lines (too hot line included) or just the bottom cold line going into the supercharger?
I insulated everything including the pump housing.

I insulated everything including the pump housing.
Oh wow. Do you know what the stuff is they use to cover the chillers/aux tanks? They’re rubber insulation in sheets? Looking for some of that

I also used the more expensive wrap which is smaller in diameter and bends/molds easy

McMaster Carr has adhesive backed foam insulation sheets, I used the 1/2” thick stuff

Really? Did the alternator pulley chew it up?
It self clearanced around the pulley. Plenty of room to the hard line. Probably an oversight as it may have been done with the cradle out of the car.

If that's the worst thing I find wrong it's a victory. My luck is not great when it comes to cars lol

Welp, I need to get different fittings for the water lines into the brick. I received metal 90 degree fittings as opposed to the plastic ones I typically see with this kit, and they only want to thread in 1/4 of the way, stick down way too far, and will become too loose if I try to index them the way I need them. Anyone know where I can get plastic chemical/heat resistant plastic 90 degree 3/4 barb to npt fittings? They really need to put AN fittings on the brick.

not trying to crack the brick by over tightening, and I know the plastic ones have more give/better seal. This is dry fitting without paste

I would stay away from the metal ones, they don’t thread in far enough and being npt you can’t tighten them any more. Plastic ones you can at least thread in most of the way depending on the stiffness of them without worrying about damaging the brick. Will be looking into possibly low profile NPT to AN swivel 90 degree fittings. Will probably stick down too far still, but I’ll be able to index hoses however I need without fittings getting loose

don't go plastic unless you have the time to keep tightening them and chasing small drips.
