I have had to drive home twice in the last year in the rain on the track tires. I took the back way home (not the freeway) and everything went well. I too like driving my car to the track ready to go and not bringing and ton of stuff with me

Glad you and the car are ok.
I drive to the track on my ET r's and swap the fronts at the track. It sucks, but then I get caught in the rain anyways. 😳
Weather man way off as usual, I got rain 3 times on the way home. Highway 95% of the drive with 2 bridges.😬
Rain was for today but I learned my lesson. So I towed the car yesterday to insure no rain. You know if I drove it rain would have been guaranteed.

Thank you! Amazing how that works. It's okay, I picked up a small milk crate. Torque wrench, socket and adapter, plastic bin for lug nuts and the wheel spacers and the jack stand all fit. Will be on a mission to find an old impact driver that I can use with my existing batteries to dedicate to the cause. Will be using the pinch weld (and yes it is okay to use the pinch weld) but will be grabbing the adapter soon anyway though). Going to have the Hoosier front and rears mounted this week and will be putting the Sportsman S/R up for sale soon. Even when I do return to ET Street R's I will not be using the Sportsman S/R. 51lbs... with wheel, no thanks. When I ran my skinnies on my Scat Pack, 27lbs in the front. Guess I'll be a mobile mechanic at the track.

What tire wheel skinnies that weighed 27 lbs? I'm guessing 17"? My 18" Forgestars F14's with M&H are 35 lbs

The Mickey S/R are just way to heavy. Had them on my Mustang

DragStar 92 17" with Hoosier Bias Ply in the front. Had them on my Scat, I have 18" now and wonder how much they'll weigh, we'll find out soon.

S/R's are heavier than bias ply tires but their better to drive on.

Good deal, adding the DA, I also have temp & humidity on my hand written chart. Humidity is one of the biggest factors for good ET's & DA is a # of all the factors together.
View attachment 20934
I was looking at your chart and have you run the same combo with no changes long enough to tell at what point do you loose a tenth with DA going up? From what I found it looks to be around 700 but I'm not sure if it changes faster or slower the higher it goes. Could you say if the DA was 0 and you ran the same setup in 2100 DA would you be 3 tenth's slower?

That's about right, for every 800 > 1000 DA is about 1/10.

Debating on test session tomorrow night. DA looks to be around 2500. I have only run the car once in 1500 DA. I have new tires which I should be able to leave harder and the blower spacers with the blanket on now

I really don't like going to the track when it is above 2000

So you will probably be1/10 slower - 1500 DA > 2500 DA.
GL & have fun !

Yeah it's hot but it's good to know what it runs in the heat & cold, couple weeks ago I ran in 3000 DA & ran 10.36 & 10.38 best 2 passes.

Planning on running at the NMCA race on the 29th and will be making 3 passes for an average time. Trying to get as close to 11.00. so this may give me an idea testing. I have some things to throw at it still. Would be nice if I can run in the 10's then I can lift then try to go faster then the car will go

speaking of gear, back in they day I'd probably have 100 pounds of stuff with me that would have to head down the track because I'm too

Finally back at the track. Had my best time so far 10.80. The next day, carrier bearing went full send, but it was replaced with a DSS one piece. Still haven't tested it yet.

It felt good getting a few runs in, this year has been shit for racing.

Had some fun at Cecil last night. Goal was to get some runs in on the new drive shaft. I funno what it was but if it was a bracket racing night I would have been doing well! Good news, drive shaft is rock solid. At the top end of these runs the MPH was bonkers. Still have to review the data but da was ~300-400. Humidity was above 60% all night.

Very pleased that my new torque wrench worked well and no bolts got loosey goosey.
