Redeyes have a different regulator/sensor system for 100psi vs 80 on a Hellcat.

Yeah, has to be the scaling then. I have the redeye rails/sensor. Still waiting for @16GoManGoHC2 to test but his car is already apart 3 times since then 😅

Mine did some odd things after I put redeye rails on it. Injector pw would be really low like 11ms but my fuel pressure would show 72psi on a commanded 80. I added the 3rd pump thinking I needed more just to be safe. Showed like 78psi after that, which couldn't be right with 3 285s running full tilt.

Story time now?

Here is another direction things can go if you really, really pound them. This one would run oil temps of 280-290 on road courses. I am stubborn. They say it will actually blow fire into the converters saving itself with getting so rich because of the heat it senses. Well, this can happen. Things can get real bad after that.

I can tell you all. The 180 degree thermo saves nearly 20 degrees quick. That part is no joke to cool these things off for certain operations. Eliminate the cats (closed course only) and a tune. Now it runs about 190 water temp and not more than about 230-240 oil temps on the courses. Oh, and runs a shit load better and always consistent.

Because of the converter above, This little problem occurred at 152 mph while accelerating.

Yes, it showered an otherwise good engine with fine particles of wonderful aluminum alloy. Engine held together!

I had friend tell me that the Direct Connection T stat is only sold with the DC stage kits. And they are mfg by DC. So you can't buy them now separately.
But I'm going to message some other friends to see if they might know more info.

Thanks Linda, but I would suspect that DC probably sources the stat as opposed to mfr it. Possibly they have a stat mfr "make" it exclusively for them. Sometimes that means putting a Walmart item in a box with the DC name on it! :)

Well yes you are correct, that was the 1st answer someone gave me. Some other friends I asked about it too said there is a vendor mfging but they don't know who yet. Maybe in time it will come out.

At least you are going to assure yourself your water is circulating. Big time racing engines don’t. I am one here who will not criticize that. I am in a camp that says if you guys are icing everything and have a standard thermostat in the system, that sucker may be closed for the whole show down that dragstrip. Differential thermo expansion takes place fast and oops!

Funny you should say that. I lived my entire life thinking you always want your engine fully warmed up before doing anything extreme, primarily for even expansion and oil flow. I always pussyfoot the throttle until everything is up to temp.

Since I entered the HC arena, everybody is saying you want the engine cool! Everyone runs the race cool-down, then keeps their hood open, shuts off waiting in line for their run, packs ice on the SC like it has a hangover, one guy had a Honda generator running a pair of fans to cool between runs. I lived my entire life thinking I knew about cars, and the HC experience has turned that completely upside down.

The more I learn, the more confused I get! Ignorance really is bliss.
