Most of the speed-shops were gone, before the interwebs. Gratiot Auto Supply, Ramchargers, Custom Speed, Redford Speed, etc....
Things had already changed so much.

Regular auto parts stores started selling speed parts. I ran a few stores and we did a great business in performance parts along with the regular parts lineup.

This was back before auto zone and the rest were around and they put the little ones out of business.

You did it by application.

Pep boys don’t sell speed parts out here. You need a shop that has AN fittings hose etc in stock and open all the time

Pep Boys doesn't sell any parts around here anymore but back then they sold speed parts.
