This looks really interesting especially since one can run the factory trans.
Can anyone explain more about how this works and what the advantages would be?

Im a little confused on how this works exactly cause its not a stand alone itself. I guess it
works with ur factory computer.

Maybe Jon or Mark can chime in.....

It allows you to keep your factory computers and all the stuff that those control. TCM still tuned using HPT if you want to run the factory trans. Engine tuning is standalone using the Holley Dominator EFI with all the inputs and control that the Dominator provides without needing to accommodate the PCM. If you want to run turbos this is huge 🤗

Put my order in yesterday... Dropping it off April 29th at HHP. Its its own ECU, only option you will lose is the cruise control function. Keeps all the SRT pages etc., can also just bolt back in your original ECU for long trips if Cruise control was must. You will need to purchase the Gateway and then whatever ECU you choose; I'm going with the Dominator.

No cruise control? Oh fuck that then...... J/k thanx. So will this be an issue for those that have to pass emissions? I was wondering how the flex tune would work into this as a TRUE flex fuel.

Can anyone comment on the flex fuel option?

To pass emissions, you'd have to put your factory pcm back in.

Sensor based flex fuel will work so long as you have the sensor wired in correctly and a tuner that can set it up and dial it in using the Holley software.

Does it have to be Holly or Can it be a Fueltech?

HHP is Hoping to start tuning on mine sometime next week with the Holley Unit if all things go well. Fingers Crossed. Josh will tune mine first with the factory ECU and then start working on the tuning with the Holley Unit. To say I'm getting a little antsy is an understatement. LOL Transmission went out right before I dropped the car off with them, so we got a little delayed waiting on the Max Effort from Sipple to arrive, as we weren't expecting to have to do the trans as well.

The question I would be asking is how much experience does Josh have tuning a Holly? Im sure they have done a few stand alones in dedicated race cars but what about street cars. The trans is still tuned thru HP tho.

Id be looking for a dedicated Holly tuner who has done countless Holly's for street cars not just a few dedicated race cars. HHP tunes 99% of their cars thru HP not Holly. But I guess that can be said with any Hellcat shop.

The flexfuel option is reason enough to get it tho imo and of course more spark if u go COP. I just dont know how I feel about someone tuning my car on a platform theyre really not all that familiar with.

well, I have absolute zero worries or concerns with where my car is. Did plenty of research and I believe it’s in the best hands it can be. You really think B3R did that video with Josh because he doesn’t know what he is doing? The stickers on the front of that car say HHP racing. Thats why I stated in my message above about the amount of tuning that’s going to have to be done, we have had plenty of conversations. I can’t speak enough great things about HHP and the communication we have had back and forth. Just looking forward to picking up the beast and getting it to the track and some nice trips around the lake with the wife.
Appreciate the info as always, but I’m very comfortable with where my third child is at.

I find the holley stuff pretty easy to use.

Most of those junk yard LS builds are guys (and gals) in their garage with a holley ecu and they get them running 10s, 9s, and even 8s.

Yea, I know everyone is a Holly tuner these days lol thats my point. There is a reason there are only a handful of top tuners out there for ANY platform and its not the ease of the software that makes ppl want to send their cars to them its the experience one has.

My buddy is an XFI and BS3 tuner for the Grand National platform and he says the same thing that most have switched to the Holly and is really easy to tune but he also said I should find a guy who has tuned hundreds of these cause he would likely to a better job then he would.

My buddy built my entire Trackhawk for me and tuning is his forte and even he said I should find a dedicted Holly tuner. Granted, he doesnt tune HP and could not tune the trans but I could get a trans tune from any decent tuner.

I really wish Fueltech would come out with something similar cause the remote tuning thing right to ur ECU is the shit! Im betting this GATEWAY setup will start becoming really popular for other platforms especially since most states still require emissions. This is a game changer for stand alones I highly doubt the Hellcat platform will be the only one they target.

Im hoping Mustangs will be next.....

I’m learning the ins and outs of this. Ill share what I have learned but won’t give away the sauce.
  1. Continental 13577379
  2. Pigtail 13352241
  3. Resistor required for input to ECU
At this point you will
  1. create a flex fuel sensor
  2. In the advanced icf use a 1d table for flex fuel multiplier
  3. In the advanced icf use a 1d table for flex fuel offset
  4. In the advanced icf use a 1d table for timing

There are many other tables that can be added content vs boost as example (if e-wastegate or have an electric s/c bypass).

Theres a lot to learn on this system. I think Holley though has the worst solution out of the big systems as the Lambda values leave a lot to be desired.

Been a busy summer so haven't been on here much. Plan is to take it out this weekend and meet Josh at MIR for track testing on the Holley. Car made some big power on 93 Octane and ready to see what it can do with the Holley Setup on race gas and the new sipples trans.
