I still say it was the greatest chase scene. Filmed in real time without special effects on those damn hills. I drove those hills. They are insane. I hope you don’t think the Vin Diesel stuff are good chases?

It certainly was revolutionary at the time. Nothing in Hollywood had been done like that before. Most of it still holds up, despite the Charger losing 6 hubcaps, a bazillion upshifts in the Bullitt and they passed the same VW beetle about a dozen times. 😂

McQ and Bullit are the shit. No sped up film, no CGI, none of that bullshit. And as far as the laundry truck is concerned, give me the laundry truck and you chase me on the surface streets and let's see how you do. I'd be willing to bet a little bit of money on this.

They really went out of their way having McQueen drive about half of the scenes and stick his head out the window so audiences could see it was really him driving. Good stuff. 🍻🇺🇸

I know right....that's how you take a 2 1/2 minute chase scene and turn it into 10 minutes.....with 26 different camera angles of the same scene
I like it......and even though I like both cars.....I always root for the bad guys in the Charger

I’m going to start a guess on what it will go for (and going at no reserve). $1.75 mil.

McQueen was definitely the King of Cool. Squint and stare worked really well for guys like him and Clint Eastwood.

Not the Mexico car. I believe that one is being restored. This one was the hero car with much less abuse during filming.

Why didn't they use a Cuda instead of the Peg leg 318 boat charger.

Charger was a 440. Not sure if Charger is a single or posi? Posi was not real common in 68 believe it or not.

I saw his Ferrari go for I believe (from strictly memory) 8+ million, when the same Ferrari owned by normal people was valued at 3-4 million. So even if that Mustang went double, triple, or quadruple value it would not come close to 1.75 mil. Even 10x would not be that.

No, but his butt was in it and driving it that whole seen, so that will add a ton to the value but I don't think 1.75 mil worth. He was trying to buy the one he drove in decent condition for years, guy kept turning him down.
