So you don't consider a SUV built on a truck platform to be a truck?

No, sure don't.

Cars you put things in. Like a Challenger or Durango, railroad cars, etc. Just like vans. Trucks you put things on. That's why they come with a bed of some sort, or just a little shelf, like a hand truck (aka dolly).

Not that those simple facts keep the authorities from wanting to register cars (SUVs) as trucks, usually to get more money. Or owners to refer to their SUVs as trucks.

I’m with @Jimmy N. on this. The Challenger and Charger are cars. The Durango and Trackhawk are SUV’s. If you want a truck with the Hellcat platform you have to look at the TRX.

No, I have one SUV, the Durango. My Suburban couldn't count since the term SUV wasn't invented yet.

And I have one truck, sort of, the 3500. I say sort of because it's only a truck when I have the (easily removable) flatbed on it. As the door sticker says, it's really an incomplete vehicle.

Of course, most would say that the TRX is also truck, but I much prefer calling it a pickup, because it is one.

Certainly an El Camino is a truck.
“Full Size SUVs” are certainly the least popular kind. Chevy has the Suburban and Tahoe, Ford the Expedition… Dodge doesn’t make one.

Too bad they dont make the SRT Ram anymore. I bet there are some of us with the Durango that might go that route if it were available.

When registering an M1009 (military K5) in CA, the DMV insisted on it being a "truck". I wanted the far less expensive car plates.

The guy asked "So does that thing have a back seat??" I responded "Yes, it does. It may not have much in there, not even carpet, but it has a back seat". It was registered as a car.

Of course, by removing that rear seat and the top it would effectively become a pickup, but it wasn't delivered as one.
