Good to hear knock abated, I may try closing gap as well as I get the here and there for no reason STKR as well, what did you go to .026” right? As far as being over paranoid I would say there’s never such a thing lol especially if you have a reason to be hunting for something like this occasional knock thing. What rpm band would you see the STKR in the most? Me 1,2,3 clean and get it in the top of 4th (stick remember) at times even with just 100F manifold temps. Happened last night, one run totally clean next run had 1.5 degrees around 6200 rpm, ran again and clean. And this was all back and forth across the bridge like a nut in a 10 minute period so it got hotter and hotter as she was beat on but the coolest and hottest run where clean but the middle one dialed timing back. Definitely going to try closing up the gap some as well. Keep us posted on this topic please.
Sounds like my issue exactly, spark blowout. I'm going to get track data tonight and then I'll let you know how it goes.

Spoke with a tuner that is leagues above me, he has a twin turbo chally so his word is gospel to me. The plugs are gapped to .020!
Observations so far. The power is instant, like it takes less for it to kick in. The blower is moving major air now with the port. Emailed Kong about the TB, that will be in the mail soon. Thank you Q1 bonus money! It was a fun long day we even used the grill and cooked burgers for everyone.

also a 5.0 wanted it. He got it… his son was like dad that cars way faster lol…

in that quick little WOT. Was only .59 lean. Going from a 2.72 to a 2.70 requires marginal changes! Now I just need @jonx96 to sell me a 2.6x, lets go!

Just double checking, didn’t know if that was just the twin turbo gapped there or not or your gap as well, THANKS for clarifying 👍
Where’s that oring from?
So when’s test and tune ?

Oring was from the injectors. We inspected them. Seated in the S/C. Glad we found it. Next test n tune is this week hopefully.

The TB is physically attached. I did a throttle re-learn from VCM scanner. If anyone is running a 108mm throttle body from Kong, can the disclaimer on their site with “No tuning” required be correct or is that for stock applications only?

I have 0 experience with one but a 108 seems fairly big for no tune required. Just my thoughts I could be wrong. I'd think if you tuned for it there would be more gain than not tuning for it.

Maybe. It's air flow right? So since these cars are wideband all the time the fueling can likely adjust for the TB. You have 10%+/- of fueling adjustment that won't be any problem, more than that I'd want to adjust it. Won't throw a code until +/- 30% though if memory serves.

If the car doesn't have a freak out at idle then maybe it is plug and play. Personally I'd wanna dial the fueling in though just because.

Historically if the TB was a problem for the tune you'd get some surging and up/down rev all on its own at idle.

Looks awesome Fuman !

I think you would want to fine tune it with all the changes that you made.

One tid bit that I noticed that I think you should insulate the coolant tank next to your air filter. That tank gets perty hot & puts off a lot of heat.

Researching all the tables that will need to change, in other news the 15” conversion is on the way. 15” Forgestar D5 beadlocks are ready to go, now just deciding on the tire. 275/60r15 would be appropriate I think for my power level.

Status update, car idles and drives fine without a tune. Even had a chance to hot wot and it performed as expected. I definitely felt myself almost turtle when it sucked me back into the seat.

Very healthy.

Wow, that's moving some air. How did the fuel trims look at cruise with the TB?

Throttle bodies can have similar airflow characteristics and behavior at idle and light loads despite being different sizes. They can also deviate drastically even when they are similar sizes. I cringe every time someone says they have a “custom” hand ported stock tb that needs tuning cause you’re basically dealing with a mystery box that often takes way too much time to dial in for decent drivability characteristics. The behavior just deviates too much from stock to be worth while in my opinion.

The 108’s are the easiest aftermarket tb’s to tune “requiring” no tweaks usually to function like stock. Can’t say the same for other tb’s.

This is on a 10 minute drive to Home Depot, the -3.xx has existed before the throttle body, I just haven't cared enough to get it closer since it's under 5%. I've attached the log.

I do have to say I've been pleasantly surprised that this one is behaving nicely so far, I did do a quick hit at WOT and everything looked fine, track time tomrrow will tell the true tale. If I do need to make adjustments @zhc what channels should I log, right now I'm logging Sonic Air Flow.

That looks close to me. I'm curious what gains can be expected from a TB.

Imo TB alone, none, you will create a sharp edge that will create turbulence. I have a port job from Kong to match it.

I keep flopping back and forth between getting MT ETR in 305/45R17 again or going to the 315/50R17.

You've had both and our cars were setup similar. Which did you like best? I'm on the stock 2.62 gear if that's a variable.

Got my tire guy looking for both to see what's available and will probably snag some next week.
