So from another forum, I think the answer is apparently this was done for noise? Not sure I buy that buy hey there is a service letter.....This is super lame! I can't believe that they would make such a b.s. change! I am not going to lose anymore sleep over this nonsense and just order up PowerStop Z26 replacements which I was thinking about doing anyway for dust reduction....This is a HUGE disappointment.......This is beyond retarded!
Edit: I ordered up my Z26 replacements tonight. I am glad that I don't have very many miles on the car yet...

I agree there, I ordered mine today but with Amazon prioritizing orders I am not sure when they will arrive....the guarantee date is April 28th lol but I have ordered several things in the last couple weeks that had that message and the items ended up shipping within a few days....I guess it depends on orders....we'll see....Its raining a lot here right now so the car is in the garage anyhow...I want the new pads on before I drive much more now....

I don't understand what "Noise" they could be referring to......seems like a silly answer to me. Doesn't pass the sniff test when that same pad is supplied on several other cars.....probably a defect that FCA got a price reduction to take lol I just hope that the aftermarket pads don't go to that design too.....that would be stupid.

The big brake brembo kits on the HC and other CAN sometimes make noise. Both my T/A and HC did BUT it was from the front brakes. Usually when they were dirty and it was damp out. Few squeeks or squeals but nothing that would last long It sounds to me like this is a "normal oil use is 1 qt per 500 miles" routine

Oh I forgot....I ordered Fronts and Rears....did you order both too? not that it matters, I was going to do this anyway for dust reduction but I wasn't going to do it until later in the year.

I've heard some from mine every now and then, mainly the fronts. Interesting. "Let's make an engineering change for cosmetic reasons." But then again, cosmetics is what it is all about. Would we be in these cars if they looked like a Pinto? Probably not (well, maybe you two door guys).

@SNeal5966 I agree with you that the star case is bull@#*$. I have a late build Redeye of 11/19 and with 14 miles the rear rotors look like they came off the Titanic. My guess is they'll eventually silently supersede the AC revision pads back to the normal pad design and call them part number 68144223AD. If they're truly worried about noise then they need to change the supplier of the rotors.
I took my cat in for other work and mentioned the rear pad contact area and rust.
This is a snipit from my work order...with a typical "No problem found" response.
No worries as I've already purchased new Power Stop pads for the front and rear along with new rear rotors.

Wow that is a shame they called that Rotor normal......I mean that thing really does look like it has been sitting on the titanic.....LOL Mine aren't like that,, if you saw my pictures of it at the beginning of the thread. Mine are clean and no rust but pretty soon I will have the full sweep surface with the PowerStop Z26 pads.....

The more of this I see the less my confidence in FCA engineering is. Me thinks the foreign ownership is bastardizing the products. Fore sure my last Dodge is in the garage. I'm very anal about mechanics, and this sort of thing. pushes my buttons. I don't care what they claim the reason for it was! It was not proper to do.

That part is not clear, though there were reports of the other forum before this was common knowlege....dealer ordering replacement parts to correct it and the new pads had the same scallop. Not exactly sure if this is something that will last......This started in Late 2019. Mine was built end of October early November time frame and has this issue. But, I think the only way you'd receive replacement pads like that is if you ordered them at the dealership or with Mopar's PN. I highly doubt that the Z26 and other options, including Brembo from other sources, would look like that....
