Generally I know exactly what I want..and I know the numbers..and never trade in..haven't test drivin a vehicle in decades..nerver engage in the dog and pony show..it's usually here's the number I need..some times it's yes..some times it's no...

Here in Florida, where the average age is about the same as the daily high temperature, just imagine how these dealers must take advantage of the seniors.

It depends on what you’re trading in. You save in taxes and registration fees. You need to know the trade in and private sale value before hand. Now adays you get what the car is really worth trading in. You get a better deal and value at volume dealers, they just want their fees and a few grand profit. There is wiggle room, always. Cars are typically priced lower than anywhere else to move quickly, but every dealer has their stupid fees. I was lucky and was able to get some of them covered. The vehicle I was looking at had also been on the lot for a while and dropped 5k in price the day before I went to look at it. Just have to look out for what you feel is a good deal. And be careful with finance, they will try to screw you

When we do C&C's..or just a show...most of the Muscle car guys (most of my friends).pull out folding chairs and sit...they never walk the show....I go to see the cars..all of em..

After 50+ years and 300 cars.....I've pretty much seen anything cool or interesting. I go to shows for the socializing. I go to the track to race.

I visited my older sister in The Villages couple months ago. She asked me about her Kia, local lube (screw) place sent her a notice that she needed to come in for oil change, serpentine belt, air filter, cabin filter and a/c service. She had no idea what to do.

Car is 3 years oil, belt looked fine, not a single crack. I told her don’t worry about it for 2 more years.

Pulled the air filter, had a couple mosquitos in it, shaked them out, told her she was fine.

A/c service?!?!? Does, you’re a/c blow good cold air in the FL summer? “Yes!” You’re a/c is fine.

Cabin filter? Do you get good air flow from the a/c ducts? “Yes!” Your cabin filter is fine.

When was your last oil change? 8k ago. Get the oil changed and no matter what they say, just say no to anything else.

Never heard back, I hope she listened…

Sage advice...Bet the bill is still 75/100 ...instead of the 600/700 if she fell for the bullshit...

Agreed...in states where ins. is mandatory..get caught driving without it...roadside confiscation of the auto..(regardless who owns it)..revocation of drivers lic...and 6months in jail...the uninsured dillema that costs ALL responsible drivers increased premiums would rectify itself...to harsh you say..then shut the fuck up..stop whinnin bout yer bill...and PAY it...
