I enjoy watching the auctions. I record them and fast forward to the stuff I want to see. This seems to be the only auction of B.J. that is good. The rest don't seem to have a lot of good cars where Mecum's other auctions do

Lived in AZ my whole life, friday was my first time catching a BJ auction in Scottsdale. Expensive just to get in with general admission. Can't imagine what those VIP packages cost.

Was still fun though. Wife and I had a blast pointing out all of the "working" girls to each other.

Back to the thread...lol. I think these auctions are B.S. in a lot of ways and I don't mean that in a Johnny paycheck simplistic way. I mean think about it. If you were wealthy and smart enough to earn and have 3MIL+++++ expendable, would you buy this vette?? (OR a movie mustang?). There's more to these "values" and reasons for the money being spent. @Marc W made an excellent point on that particular subject on the McQueen Mustang thread.
ALSO...How come SOME cars are literally a drive by. I mean; some cars come up (even some of the higher end cars) and it's wham bam see U mam...Hammer down before you blink and SOME cars are hanger's on. MAN, they won't LET that thing leave. Car just sit's there (to the point of awkwardness) 'till so and so from BJ says some blah, blah, blah about it and then...price keeps going up. I know if I was a seller and they pumped someone else's car but pushed mine through, I'd be pissed. OR if I was a buyer and had it,but they just kept dangling it for someone else.

There was a lawsuit a while back for that very reason. I think some old guy with a T-Bird didn’t get the promised time for his car and they hammered it too soon at a low bid or maybe it was about them hammering down on a car that Jackson himself wanted? There was some story about Jackson buying cars at his own auction and then putting them up for bids at later suctions. I don’t really remember what the story was or what happened with any lawsuit(s)?

An ugly, small, smelly house in a densely populated town where others are permanently camping in tents in the park across the street and downtown and using your street and yard for a crapper, your commute is 90 minutes one way and you get to pay $5/gal for gas.

That second part sounds like living Canada.

I do have weird creatures crapping in my yard too... squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, snakes. But, I'd actually let my kids approach those...

Good for my business but bad for most potential buyers. One of the reasons why I have not left... yet! Even Facebook and Google employees who make 6 figures are struggling to buy a home.

The wife has job offers in the 15k+/mo range to work as a nurse in the bay area.

But looking at real estate among other things, thats a tough move.
Plus my house is almost paid off here and i have lots of land to play on.
