Oops, forgot to answer the part about being ashamed.

Since I know the local tow truck driver, who makes good money rescuing people that overestimated their EV's capabilities and got stranded around here, it would be quite embarrassing to have to call him when running out of electrons.

Of course, I could leave a trailer with a winch hooked up and call my girlfriend to come get me.

If there's cell service where the EV croaks.

That's why you have the beater! Or you could eat less (or eat better)! And why would you be ashamed driving a car that can beat 99.99% of the cars on the road? I do not understand....
