Well, shit. Maybe just paranoid now after the Speedy theft, but went to Lowes this afternoon. Parked way away from everyone else with the new DDSRT (in part to get a shady spot & to keep the doors from getting dinged) and damned if there were not 3 dudes just 'hanging out' in a SUV next to me when I returned. I fiddled around a bit & they continued to just sit there, was toooooo hot to dither too long so I got in & left.

Now wondering it they were trying the jack my D. Going to look for airtags later as well. Guess I need to get the RF thingy done to both cars.

I didn't think the most current MYs needed it??

That's straight up bullshit there after all these years of our cars getting stolen and the clowns at Stellantis still pumping out easy Pickens... ridiculous.

People like to park next to us, doesn't matter what we do. Maybe they were looking for shade too?

That ‘23 Durango does need it. Mine was done. A few weeks ago, someone parked next to it in the capital city of car thieves (Aurora CO) where I work and it was parked in a corner spot with nobody around. Until a shit red car needed to park so close I probably could not get in. He fiddled with something in his car and after 15-20 minutes he departed. Did not belong, very strange. My office faces the parking lot, so I got to watch.

Now on one of the other forums someone mentioned that this fix will not stop programming of a new key through the star port, which is a very common tactic. I was under the impression this TSB would defeat that method? As I understand it this port is behind the glove box. Any way of locking that down if the TSB doesn't.

My thought just another way to get in like doing the bypass in the trunk. They all lead to same location so if that is locked it wouldn't matter. Would have to look into it more but if hub is locked you can't make keys

Maybe & maybe I'm just being paranoid as I said earlier - but still, why were 3 dudes just sitting in a parked car in the 'hinter lands' of the Lowes parking lot ?
Just seemed very odd to me !

Smokin’ a fatty planning their next move? I find a healthy dose of paranoia helpful. It’s gotten me this far. Now if I paid more attention to my diabetes and high bp I’d really help assure my longevity!

Well I was in at 8:30, out at 9. Cost 100 bucks. All three fobs still work. (I brought all with me)

Worst part was it was pouring rain…first time my car has seen rain. Lol. The 305 Nitto 555s get a little sketchy over 60mph.

@DaveB I feel your pain about the rain, I got caught in a drizzle as well so the car needs a once over. Glad you’re done but what’s with the 100.00? Extra fobs?

My car is a 2016 and off warranty…so since it’s a TSB, not a recall, it’s on my dime.

Interesting how every dealer is going to be different. Mine is a 2016 and they did it for free

Will be interesting to see what Jenkins does for me & my '16.
Waiting for a week with no am rain forecast so I can get there & back without trashing my fresh detail job !

The D is brand new, so that one should be free.

With more reports like that and mine, they must be able to do something on a computer that close to our vehicle to begin the shady progress.

Based on my police report that's an accurate assumption.

Yeah, I tried to see what they were up to - dude on pass. side was fiddling with a cig, driver was looking at his phone, rear seat dude was doing something but windows were too dark to tell what exactly he was up to .

They did not seem to react to my fiddling about with the stuff I purchased, even fumbled around with my keys (not that I needed to pull them out) and flicked a stone out of the front tire with the house key before getting in

If that is true then the Lockout on my 2023 Durango must have worked. Because there was no other reason for someone to do what they did in 100 degree heat/100% sun in a parking lot where they had no business being there.

NO RF being produced for them to work with.
